About Us

Hi, I’m Mark Carruthers, and Master Finishing Supplies is my company.  In 2006, with many years of experience selling industrial supplies to wood and metal manufacturers, I got fed up.  Not with my customers, but with the business of this business.  I knew that there was a better way to do things.  I don’t want to make a quick sale, talking you into a product that will give me the best return.  I want to sell you the product that’s going to provide the best results for you, and I know that means a different solution for everyone.

From the start I wanted to be easy to deal with.  No account numbers, no complicated part numbers, no huge list of stuff that I don’t know anything about.  MFS stocks what we sell and are knowledgeable in these items.  Mark and MFS are driven to do it better.  Many suppliers just want to give you the same things at a better price but I seek out unique and better products.  A better product or better way is always better than a low price.  Because we are supplying based on the performance of the product, not price there is no pressure.  If our products are better you buy them because they save you money

I’m not afraid to step out on a limb or take risks.  (Want proof?  Talk to my wife, I quit my job to start this company on the same day she started maternity leave for our second child.  Yes she is still with me.)   I’ve researched countless product lines and put together an inventory of items I believe in, at every price point.  I started with a few suppliers with a small inventory in the basement of my house. As time went on key suppliers came on board.  We now have one of the most comprehensive offering for the wood/metal trade.  I know that cost can be a huge consideration, especially in our current economy, and we strive hard to remain competitive.  .  However, there are often better returns to be made from working smarter than from buying cheaper.  I have the knowledge to help you improve your process, and with it, both your product and your bottom line.  And if you stump me?  I’ll keep looking for the answer until I find it.

My relationship with customers is built on mutual knowledge and trust, working and learning together.  Finally, and I am running out of breath I listen and provide help.  Give me a call and I would be glad to talk.
